Odin... puppylove!

A little while ago, OK not just a little while ago...

A few months ago my husband and I adopted a puppy...

Ok it actually was last summer; on the 11th of july 2018.

My husband wanted a dog for a while - read years. but I always said no.

I`m a bit of crazy cat lady, but with only two cats (Juno & Ares). Since the day we adopted them and nursed them to health I see them as my children... Told you I`m a crazy cat lady. But for the sake of keeping this post in control, I`ll tell you their story another time.

When we married the feeling of starting a family of ourselves started to grow. But I had the insane idea to make a job switch, one where I had to get my bachelor degree for. The years came and the feeling grew stronger, so I started to think about having a dog.

We looked for dogs to adopt which fitted our needs. He or she had to be able to love the cats, enjoy hikes & swimming, was able to be alone at home and could als so be calm in the house. If it was an older dog he also had to be calm with small children... looking at the future, and friends with kids already. We looked for 6 months and found a dog that fitted the description twice. But twice somebody was faster then us to adopt them. Then we found an organisation that rescued dogs and puppy abroad. And with them was our dog, from Bulgaria, with the most dreadful name ever: Philip Blein - Sorry, designer who`s name it is.

We looked at the pictures and we kind of melted for his cute eyes. So we arranged to adopt him if there was a good connection.

The moment we went saw him at the kennel, I totally fell in love. He was the smallest pup, a little shy though very curious. And those eyes were even cuter in reality. So we adopted him - and quickly changed his name to Odin.

Soon he became a real part of our family. He grew so fast thats why I`m only sharing this post now. Time was going by so fast...

In a month he will become one year old, and the way he changed is immense.

We had lots of "first" moments that were wonderfull and silly. but also sometimes a bit scary when he was sick. Those are the moments you realize how much you love that silly dog in such a short while. The realization you would do anything to get him back up his feet again, hit me quite hard. You feel really responsible and well, I guess like a parent.

After several doctor visits an switching food that sooted him we found out he is intolerant to grains and rice. So now his diet is on the right track, he flourishes and enjoys his dog life very much.

Below you can see some some pictures that really define his character. He loves tearing apart his pillow and stuffed toys, but only his - sigh, lucky me. Although he does like to steel our shoes and socks.

He like playing with his best friend Luca, a gril dog of 4 years old from my close friend. Giving hugs and sitting on your lap like he still is as small as he was - trust me he isn`t.

Having fun in the snow, jumping and rolling in the snow like there`s no tomorrow.

And enjoying the floor heating, almost literally melting away.
