Colorful key Holder

Ok, I admit it! it is not just a key holder... It's even better. This nifty fellow makes sure you find your keys, wallet, bicycle lights and sunglasses back in one place.

And it has glitter on it. Just to make sure you can sparkle up your day.

And it has a glow in the dark finish. So now you can even know where to throw you keys when you get home in the middle of the night.

Crafting Time: 3 days

Utensils:

MDF board,
Saw,
Pencil,
Measuring Untenssil,
Drilling machine with drill size which is a little smaller then the diameter of the screws,
3 Screws,
Screwdriver,
White Primer,
Acrylic Paint,
Gold Paint,
Glow in the dark paint,
Chalkboard paint,
Painters tape,
Glue,
Glitter,
Clear Varnish,
10 gold colored Hooks,
Glue gun,
Ribbon,
Chalk,
Lace,
Thin rope.

How To:

Saw the MDF board in 2 pieces. Big piece => x x cm. Small Piece => x x cm. You can round the corners if you like to. If you don't want to saw this yourself you can ask at the timber mill to saw it to the right size.
Measure off 1/3 of the length on the big piece of MDF and draw a line over the entire width. Draw the line on the other side of the board. Measure of 1 cm of the sides and find the middle. Drill 3 holes on those points.
Screw on the smaller board.

Give everything a layer of Primer and let it dry.
Paint the visible sides in 2 layers of white and let it dry completely.
Tape off a rectangle on the bottom and some other geometric shapes.
Paint the rectangle in chalk board paint.
Paint the geometric shapes in some bright colors. Give it 2 layers.
Remove all the tape before the paint has dried completely.
Cover everything with 2 layers of the glow in the dark paint and let it dry.
Make some intricate design with the gold paint. I made some curls and flowers. I had to layer the paint to get a bright golden result.

Cover the sides with Glue and sprinkle it with Glitter. Make sure you have no holes.
Cover everything with 2 layers of Varnish. Be careful not to cover the part with Chalk board paint. This makes it able to clean when necessary.
Take a piece of Elastic smaller than the width of the board. Glue it with the Glue Gun to the sides of the board. => This is where you can hang Sunglasses.
Cut of a piece of Rope off with a length off about 30 cm. Glue one end where the elastic is glued on, do this with the glue gun. On the other side glue on the piece of Chalk and put some Lace around it.
Place the Hooks. 5 on the top and 5 at the bottom.
